A Great Service
SEO Guelph continue to go above and beyond to get those hard to get rankings. Traffic is at a 3 year high. I have personally recommended SEO Guelph to close friends and family.
This is my top 5 SEO observations for 2016. I did a blog like this a few years ago and had a good response so thought it was about time I jumped back into it.
1.) Consistency is Key
It’s important to keep the momentum going. If you look at the most popular youtube channels, they update a few times a week. There isn’t a single Youtube channel (besides VSauce) that has a regular following from updating their content once a month. When people like something, they will want more. The same for SEO. Companies they go through batches of tweeting and then being inactive for months on end generally struggle to maintain a following.
2.) People Want to Connect
Throw away the stock photography on the site. People want websites that they can relate to. If you are selling a product then they people on your site need to be using that product. They will relate better as a result of this. If you can’t identify and connect with your audience then you won’t sell. You are selling trust, not just products.
3.) Bounce Rate Matters
If you have a website with a high bounce rate then you are always going to have a hard time ranking in a competitive market. The best way I like to explain this concept to my customers is like this. If you had a shop that had 100 people walk through it with only 1 or 2 purchases. Do you then think “I need more people coming through the door”, or is the answer “how do I get these people to buy my products”. That is the way I preach bounce rates. SEO is about sending you more leads to your website. If these leads aren’t converting then it’s not more traffic you need.
4.) Yahoo and Bing are Back!
When Yahoo paid 100 million to firefox to have Yahoo listed as the the default search engine, that’s when it was time to pay attention to other browsers besides Google. What are you doing to rank in the Microsoft network? Maybe instead of running a Google PPC campaign you should consider Yahoo and Bing as there is a lot less companies competing for those clicks.
5.) Is your website Desktop Optimized?
Now that mobile usage is beating desktop usage by a landslide, are you catering to the smaller desktop community? That sounds strange to say but because I have been focusing so heavily on mobile search lately, I have to tell myself to check that my site is desktop optimized! Never leave out a segment of your audience. Be sure to test on all browsers and operating machines.
